  The high-speed circular saw machine is used not only for metal cutting but also for wood cutting. It is a commonly used woodworking machine that uses a circular saw blade as a tool, utilizing continuous rotational motion to cut logs, wood, or engineered boards. The high-speed circular saw machine is widely used in wood production and fine woodworking due to its simple structure, low cost, fast cutting speed, and ability to meet the requirements of various raw materials and products. So what are the key points and noise control methods for woodworking circular saw machines?

  Key points for operating the high-speed circular saw machine:

  1. Check whether the machine is in good condition, and whether the electrical switches are functioning properly;

  2. The woodworking circular saw machine is equipped with safety covers, baffles, and drip devices; check if they are functioning normally;

  3. Check if the saw blade is broken. The saw blade used should be flat and sharp, and should not have two consecutive missing teeth. The length of cracks should not exceed 20mm, and the ends of cracks should be stopped holes;

  4. The saw blade should be installed concentrically with the shaft;

  5. The workplace should have reliable fire-fighting equipment. Smoking and other open flames are strictly prohibited in the workplace, and flammable materials such as oil-soaked cotton yarn should not be stored.

  High-speed circular saw machineSometimes there may be situations of loud noise, high frequency, and harsh sounds, which seriously affect the health of operators and are the main noise sources in wood manufacturing and processing workshops.

  The noise of the high-speed circular saw machine is mainly caused by:

  1. When the saw blade rotates at high speed, the teeth periodically strike the surrounding air, and due to the tooth grooves between the teeth, rotational noise and air vortex noise are generated;

  2. The saw blade vibrates when it contacts the workpiece to be cut, and air vortices can also cause the saw blade to vibrate, thus generating solid noise;

  3. The teeth impact the material being cut, and the material being cut can also produce vibrations and noise;

  4. Poor manufacturing and installation quality of the saw bed can also produce high noise.

  SoHigh-speed circular saw machinewhat are the noise control methods?

  1. The operator should stand on the left side of the saw blade, in line with the saw blade. When the saw line falls off, it should be corrected gradually and not pulled hard;

  2. When feeding, the wood should be placed flat, not shaken or lifted, and feeding should not be too forceful;

  3. When two people are operating, the lower hand should saw the board at least 150mm above the table, and it should be connected and sawed to the end without using hands to push;

  4. When sawing short materials, use a push rod for feeding;

  5. When the wood gets stuck on the saw blade, stop immediately;

  6. Strictly select fuses according to regulations, and it is strictly prohibited to use substitutes arbitrarily;

  7. It is strictly prohibited to measure the dimensions of the workpiece and clean the wood chips from the upper and lower parts of the machine while the machine is running; 8. After troubleshooting, disassemble the saw blade and wait for it to stop, and cut off the power before proceeding.

  8. Reduce the tooth height as much as possible without affecting cutting performance; if the tooth height doubles, the noise will increase by 6dB;

  9. Reasonably design the tooth groove area. A larger tooth groove area will produce more aerodynamic noise, but it should not be too small.

  10. Reducing the number of teeth within a range can lower the no-load noise;

  11. Under the condition of meeting the wood cutting process requirements, minimize the diameter of the saw blade and cutting speed as much as possible;

  12. Determine the thickness of the saw blade; the ratio of the average width of the tooth groove to the thickness of the saw blade should be controlled between 2.5 and 4.
